Real Life Star Wars - Skellig Michael, Ireland

Hello and welcome to a brisk morning on the South Western Irish coast in the small fishing town of Portmagee, 200 miles from Dublin.

Better known as an island on Ahch-To, the planet housing the first Jedi Temple and Luke Skywalker's solace three decades after Return of the Jedi. This isn't just a tourist destination, it's a huge page where Star Wars fans flock to.

Your journey to Skellig will begin with arriving at a marina in a small coastal Irish village. For us (as for most) it was Portmagee. Portmagee is a quaint little place accessibly only by car - we're not in London anymore!

We booked our trip far in advance through Casey's Tour, these fill up quickly and are only open at certain times of the year. The island is an incredibly delicate place so only a few people can visit at a time, if you want to go, get planning!

Star Wars Fragrances

It's no secret I'm a huge Star Wars fan, I cosplayed Obi-Wan Kenobi at Star Wars Celebration Europe, I'm in for the long haul. I bloody love it.

The kind folks at KeepMe Fragrance were kind enough to send me some samples of their Star Wars Fragrance line! This line is all purposely androgynous, quite a bold move as there aren't a lot of brands working on non-gendered fragrances. I love this concept and I'm welcoming this shift to androgyny many companies are beginning to make!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Review

The first in the Star Wars Anthology series has finally hit the big screen, and after years of scrutiny and doubt, we can finally pass our own judgement.

This movie was great. There's this review in four words. Here's it in five: This movie was fucking great.

Prepare yourself for minor spoilers. No plot is given away, however those wishing to go in blind probably shouldn't read this.

International Women's Day 2016

Hello!

Last year I made a blog post for International Women's Day on women who continuously inspire me in daily life! Here is a link to that if you fancy a look!

This year, I'm going to mix it up a bit, and talk about some fictional inspirational women!!

Agent Peggy Carter

I adore Peggy so much. Being a woman in the 1940's was not easy, especially in a male dominated industry, but wasn't everything then? And now, sadly.

Peggy is consistently underestimated because she's a woman, but time and time again she proves herself more useful to the war effort than most of the men.

After the war, Peggy works for the SSR, in which many of the other agents decide the only reason she is there is due to being 'Captain America's girlfriend', not due to the truth of her being part of the reason WWII ended when it did.

Peggy faces endless trials, but takes advantage of the fact she is underestimated by most men, something which they soon learn to be a grave mistake.

She also is one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D. Peggy is the best.

The 2016 reading plan

Hello!

It's 2016, and it has been for a good while, I'm just late to this writing this post. A friend and I have set each other the challenge of reading 20 books this year, and if we don't make the full 20, we must buy the other a book.

I'm extremely competitive, so by today, the 13th of February I have read: 0 books.
Oops.

I used to read every night before bed but then my obsession with Star Wars: The Clone Wars began, and I don't think I need to explain further.

So I thought I'd share a few of the books I intend to get through in the next few months! There are a ton of others, but I've featured them in book hauls on my YouTube channel before!

This is the first book I've been reading is this! It's interesting, and is written in the style of a non-fiction book. I like Star Wars. I like the Jedi. It's a good read.

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar

All of my social media has had a huge Star Wars overload lately. I am very sorry if you don't like/care for Star Wars, and that is all I've clogged your timelines with.

This month has been a very huge month for Star Wars, and I celebrated this with a Lego Star Wars advent calendar! I bought this from firebox.com, but I know that you could buy these in store at the Lego store! This cost me £30.

The main reason I'm doing this post full of what I got in it is that I bought a vinyl marble sheet and wanted to try taking pictures on it for the first time, it went...okay. My camera was being temperamental and I'm seeing that a lot of these came out rather dark, and one came out SO BRIGHT.

Oh well, it's all a learning curve.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Spoiler Free Review!

Last night, at 00:01, I sat in a theatre completely sold out, full of Star Wars fans anticipating the start of The Force Awakens, the 7th film in the Star Wars series, and the 7th chronologically.

The film is set 30 years after Return of the Jedi, which left the Empire crushed, however now, the First Order has risen, and the rebel alliance has had to evolve into the Resistance to survive. We follow a mix of fresh faces and well known old friends in the fight to bring peace to the galaxy once more.

Post-Halloween round up

HAPPY NOVEMBER!! I hope you all are well and enjoyed a most magnificent Halloween!

I certainly did, Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year (I love any holiday) and so I went all out this year! I used to just do easy-ish costumes, but for the past few years I have tried to go as all out as possible! Usually I do 2 costumes but this year I went for 3!

Also, oops, when you're planning to do a blogpost on this stuff, you probably should take better quality pics. But also, w/e these are a mix of 'at the party' pictures and 'the taxi is here in 2 minutes and we haven't took pics yet'.

Fall/Winter Outfit Inspo. The FURce Awakens!

This is a terrible pun based upon the fact that I have a jacket with an extremely fake fur lining (I DO NOT SUPPORT REAL FUR, PUTTING THIS OUT THERE LOUD AND CLEAR) and also because I'm wearing a Star Wars t-shirt. Y'all know I love Star Wars.

HAPPY STAR WARS DAY!

Today, as I'm sure you all know, is the day we all celebrate the massive cultural phenomenon that is Star Wars!

Star Wars came out 38 years ago this year, yet it's still such an incredibly relevant franchise, with The Force Awakens coming out this December and please tell me that you've all seen the trailer because it's INCREDIBLE!

I've only gotten into the Star Wars world over the past couple of months, and I truly have wasted the past 19 years by not being so involved with it all.

To celebrate this momentous day, here are some of my favourite behind the scenes pictures that I found:
