Ice Bar + Aifur Viking Restaurant

Welcome to the FINAL Stockholm post!

If you want to catch up on earlier posts click here

Stockholm's famous ICEHOTEL houses the ICEBAR, which at the time of our visit (November 2016)  contained a room formed of 35 tonnes of ice!

Coloured lights were embedded in the walls of ice. Don't ask me how this works, science isn't my strong point.

Stockholm's Decorated Metro System

Stockholm's metro system is something else entirely. Many stations are beautifully decorated, they're works of art.

We took a journey around some of the most famous and adored! You can learn a little more about specific stations here. We didn't visit all of those mentioned, but did visit all mentioned here. Ashlea's blogpost served as our guide for the day.

Ashlea nails down how much this tour will cost and it's timings, however we used a 24 hour travel card as we were starting from a different station and would be heading all over the city in the afternoon/evening.

You can also take a guided tour for free, however it is entirely in Swedish.

Gamla Stan - Stockholm's Old Town

After the ordeal of the last post, we finally made it to Gamla Stan, translated, it means The Old Town. Very fitting for this area of Stockholm, Sweden.

Gamla Stan dates back to the 13th century and contains many of Stockholm's famous landmarks, such as Parliament, the Royal Palace, the Nobel Museum and Stockholm Cathedral.

The road to Gamla Stan - Stockholm's Old Town

It was a treacherously icy day in Stockholm. We were venturing to Stockholm's Old Town located on the isle of Gamla Stan, a seemingly short walk from our hotel.

With snow like this, it was not a short walk.

Koh Phangan - Stockholm's Glow in the Dark Thai Restaurant

Welcome to Stockholm, and the first of my posts covering my amazing weekend in this incredible city.

Not to be confused with Koh Phan Gan island, Koh Phangan is a chain of two restaurants/bars operating in Stockholm, serving amazing Thai food and great drinks all in a wild neon fantasy.

We visited the Sodermalm restaurant, but there is another in Ostermalm.
