Today we're joined by a Pokémon maestro known for his Pokémon themes project, Pokémon Reorchestrated! Braxton Burks joins us to discuss how he does exactly what he does, ahead of the release of Pokémon Reorchestrated's latest album, Johto Legends.

D: Tell us a bit about yourself + what do you do as an 'online creator'.

B: Well, hey! I'm a composer and arranger from Seattle, Washington, USA. When I'm not writing music for media, I'm probably binge-watching anime or catching up on my ever-increasing backlog of video games.

Online, most folks associate me with a fan music project called 'Pokémon Reorchestrated,' which I created in 2011 to share orchestrated versions of my favorite Pokémon game themes. The response to my debut album Kanto Symphony (a tribute to Pokémon Red and Blue) was beyond anything I imagined, and eventually led to me releasing more than 3 fully-licensed Pokémon albums, two of which landed on the Billboard charts (!!!).

Pokemon Center Mega Tokyo in Ikebukuro

Hello!

Today's post will be on part of my second day in Japan, which was spent in Ikebukuro! 

Ikebukuro may be my favourite area of Tokyo, it's up there with Shibuya. Ikebukuro has such a nice 'vibe' to it! It's hectic, yet not overcrowded. It's full of energy, but not in your face. It's got all your anime and game delights, but it's not overt nor garish like Akiba can be.

The above picture is the crossing directly outside of Ikebukuro station, which is one of the biggest commuter hubs in Tokyo! Especially for the Yamanote and Tobu Tojo lines. Though, if you're headed to Sunshine City like we were (it's where the Pokemon Center is), you could come out of much better exits than this! We learned our lesson after this!

Paris

I was lucky enough to spend Tuesday and Wednesday of last week in Paris, France! Whilst we were there, the weather varied from torrential rain to extreme sunlight! It was crazy, and I had not packed sufficiently for either weather (despite my case being extremely heavy!).

Rather than ramble a lot, I'm going to make the post mainly pictures, if you want to hear more/see more of my trip, I uploaded a vlog to my YouTube channel yesterday (it's quite long, prepare yourself for that!):

 WOW It is hell trying to change the order of pictures on blogger. Let's deal with these the way they are, I moved most of them into the right order but I also can't be bothered moving the bagel pictures towards the bottom!!
